Today is my Grandfather's 75th Birthday! I just wanted to write a short blog and let him, and everyone else, know just how much I love him and how much he means to me. For all of you who know him, you know how great of a man he is and how loving and caring he is. He's the prime example of how a Christian man should live his life. I'm truly blessed to be able to call him my Papaw Coxes :) I hope you have a wonderful birthday and I love you very much.

My Song of the Week

I heard a rumor that love will make you crazy, Well is it true?
Well that’s no rumor, look at the crazy things that love made Jesus do

The friends he chose were thought to be outrageous
And you could even find him touching the contagious
And the craziest is how he chose to save us
He gave his life away
Then he had to go and say
“Gotta love the same way that I love you!”

Love like crazy
We gotta love like crazy
We gotta love like crazy
The way he loves you and me

‘Cause if the world’s ever gonna change
We gotta love like crazy

What the world needs now is for love to spread
As fast as the rumors do
But to make it, we gotta take this thing from another whole point of view
We can start by keeping our vows, and not brreakin’ promises
And bring hope to the women at the well, and the doubting Thomases
And you kids, you gotta cheerfully do what your pops and your mama sez
He gave his life away
Then he had to go and say
“Gotta love the same way that I love you!”

Love like crazy
We gotta love like crazy
We gotta love like crazy
The way he loves you and me
‘Cause if the world’s ever gonna change
We gotta love like crazy

Well I’m tellin’ you boy, you got a lot to learn
I think you’re crazy all right to love for nothin’ in return
You’ve lost your marbles, got a few loose screws
And if you count your cards I’ll bet you got less than fifty-two
But now you got me thinkin’, you sorta planted a seed
‘Cause you know this might be just the kind of love that I need
Naw, your train’s off the track, you’re from the loony bin
You know that brain that you ordered? Well it never came in
Or else you’ve fallen on your head and all your brains leaked out
‘Cause your lights are on, but ain’t nobody in your house
Your elevator doesn’t quite reach the top floor
I think you’re out in left field, and I could say a lot more
But you don’t care what I think, it doesn’t matter what I’m tellin’ you
You got the love of Jesus, and he’s the one compellin’ you to love
Like he does
You gotta love like he does
You gotta love like he does
‘Cause if the world’s ever gonna change
We gotta love like crazy

One Man's Trash Is Another Man's Treasure

A few days ago, I found a small Antique shop right here in Jefferson City. So today, Brian and I decided to take a journey down to it and see if they had anything cool. Well, as you can see, I did make a few purchases. I got a little Peanuts lunchbox. I know that it isn't really an antique, but I collect Peanuts stuff, and it's getting harder and harder to find it any more. Also, I got an old school tennis racket. Now when I play my daddy in tennis, it'll be fairer :) And of course, how could I forget my favorite purchase of the day, an Oscar Mayer Weiner Whistle! Yes, that's right, a Weiner Whistle. Just thought I'd share my findings with everyone. By the way, after taxes, I paid a whopping $11.35 for all of it :)

Flying High!

Oh what a way to spend a Friday afternoon! It's always fun when Nerf gun fights get serious :) Brwyan and I went and got a couple of Nerf guns the other night, and yesterday we had some serious fun with them. Don't worry, some more pictures of these events are to come, but right now I must study my Finance stuff. For now, I hope you enjoy this one ;)

Brian Clock

Here is our newest decorative touch in our room. Our new Brian Clock. As you can see, it's a clock of the many faces of the Brians (Brwyans). It's one of a kind, but we think it's cool.

Some Decorative Touches

I thought I'd share my beginning of decorations for my desk/study area. As you can see in the picture to the left, I started putting my pictures up on my corkboard. Also, I got creative with cardboard and tape Friday, and I made the litte shelf for my cars :)

And here are my new flowers! We're not sure what they are, but they look pretty and they should be pretty easy to keep up. Well, that's all for tonight, sorry it wasn't very exciting, but I thought I'd share anyways.

Aloha from Alumni

I just thought I'd let everybody know that I got a Hawaiian shirt today! I know, it's not the most exciting news, but I thought I'd share anyways. Every time my family and I go shopping, we always make fun of these shirts, but today, I got one! Hey, it was like six bucks. So now, for when I feel crazy, I get to go Hawaiian style ;)

Somebody's a bit disgruntle

Face what?

If you haven't heard of it by now, Facebook.com seems to be the new cool thing to do. Don't ask me why, but everybody, and their dog, has signed up with it and they're all addicted to it. If you want to talk to people online, you don't have to leave messages on facebook, that's what MSN and AIM are for! If you want to see pictures of people, then ask your friends for pictures and they can email you some. If you just want to meet people online, then I suggest you get out more often. Socialization can be fun sometimes ;) Brian states that "facebook.com sucks the soul straight out of your body, and hands it directly to the devil" And if that isn't bad enough, it breeds stalkers. Come on people, don't you have better sense than to give out personal information online. I'm not really interested in how much you weigh, or your pet chahuahua's name. And that picture of you makes you look fat!

Splatball

Brwyan and I invented a new game! It is tenatively called Splatball, because if you get hit with the ball, that's the sound it makes :) Anyways, it's kind of the concept of Table Hockey, but you use Racquetball stuff. The object is to hit the target on the opposite side of the court from you (the gray areas on the picture). You can't cross the center line. This is a very fast paced game, and it could be dangerous. Protective equipment is highly highly recommended. But it is an awesome game. So, play at your own risk. Oh yeah, the first to five points wins.

Egg Be Gone

Tonight, Brian decided he wanted an egg, a boiled egg. My father said that it would work, so we stuck it in the microwave, as you can see. And then, exactly two minutes in the microwave, and....

BOOM

But this experience wasn't a complete loss. We learned that it's not a smart idea to cook an egg in the microwave for 2 minutes, and Shawn and Brian still enjoyed their Egg Bits.

In other news, Brian cut the cheese earlier this evening :)

Brian Broke His Hands!

Sadly, Brian broke both of his hands this evening. However, I bandaged them up, as you can see in the picture, and now his clock works fine :)

My Song of the Week

I remember when I was thirteen
I saw a picture on my T.V. screen
The Reverend Billy Graham and the people singing 'Just As I Am'
And it felt like You were talking to me

And the whole world seemed to fade away
Until I heard my mother say
'Son, are you okay? Do you wanna pray?'
And that became the hour I first believed

Next thing you know, I'm high and flyin'
Next thing you know, My heart is in your hands
Next thing you know, There's no denyin'
Next thing you know, I'm a brand new man

Well, I wish I could say I always stayed right there
And I did until my freshman year
But the world was pulling me a long way from thirteen
And you were calling but I didn't hear

Still I knew there was something more
So, one day my knees hit the dorm room floor
I said, 'If you're there, and if you really care,
Come and talk to me like I was thirteen.'

Next thing you know, I'm high and flyin'
Next thing you know, My heart is in your hands
Next thing you know, There's no denyin'
Next thing you know, I'm a brand new man

Got a picture in my head today of how heaven might look someday
I see the people there, so I pull up a chair
And their stories, they blow me away
'Cause I can see it on every face
The evidence of grace
And as I listen it occurs to me
Everybody's got their own thirteen

So, what's your story about His glory?
You gotta find your place in the history of grace
Yeah, what's your story about His glory? Come on and find your place

Next thing you know, I'm high and flyin'
Next thing you know, My heart is in your hands
Next thing you know, There's no denyin'
Next thing you know, I'm a brand new man

Bye Bye Car

Hey, it's not like there's a No Parking sign or anything. I don't think she has to worry about losing her parking spot :)

Thursday, September 08, 2005

Yesterday, Danny and I decided it would be fun, and possibly constructive to go to the Dam and do some homework. Well, we didn't really get much work done, at least I didn't. Instead, I spend time walking along the shore, just to see if I could find anything cool. I found some broken fishing stuff, a couple bottle caps, and a gold ring. It was just a perfect day to sit out on the shore, do some thinking/relaxing, and enjoy what God's given us :)

Every day is a journal page Every man holds a quill and ink And there's plenty of room for writing in All we do is believe and think So will you compose a curse Or will today bring the blessing Fill the page with rhyming verse Or some random sketching

Teach us to count the days Teach us to make the days count Lead us in better ways That somehow our souls forgot Life means so much Life means so much Life means so much

Every day is a bank account And time is our currency So nobody's rich, nobody's poor We get 24 hours each So how are you gonna spend Will you invest, or squander Try to get ahead Or help someone who's under

Teach us to count the days Teach us to make the days count Lead us in better ways That somehow our souls forgot Life means so much Life means so much Life means so much

Has anybody ever lived who knew the value of a life And don't you think giving is all What proves the worth of yours and mine

Teach us to count the days Teach us to make the days count Lead us in better ways That somehow our souls forgot Life means so much

Every day is a gift you've been given Make the most of the time every minute you're living

Welcome to the coolest room on campus! Yes, that's right, The Brians Room.

It's always fun to see what happends, when you give a college student, with no homework, a pack of construction paper and a blank door :)

Weight Lifting: Third North Style

We Got A Dog, We Got A Dog!

It's supposively against the rules to have pets in the dorm, but it's all good when you know the RLC! Well, I'd like to introduce to you, Brian the Dog, and Brian the Cat. These are the two newest Brians to add to the collection. Hopefully, they'll get along, they seem to be doing good so far. :)

Preston vs. well... um...Preston

Preston decided it would be cool if he could have the opportunity to see if he could beat himself in tennis. After playing for awhile, he decided it'd be best if he joined up with himself as doubles partners.....

And he did a fantastic job!

See - Hear - Speak
No Evil

So Myself, Brian, and Brwyan decided it'd be great for three Brian's to do this picture. Hope you all like it.

Cork Board!

After a long evening of sanding and painting, we finally have a beautiful cork board for our hall. True, it is very plain for the time bein, but that will change within the next few days. I just thought I would share with everyone that 3rd North is now just a tad bit cooler ;)

Live from Alumni, It's Saturday Night!

What can I say, I got bored again! Well, actually Brian asked me to make this one for him. As everyone knows, this is Brian's most favorite show in the world, and now he's apart of it! Also, Melvin made it in the picture too, lol. Anyways, I just thought I'd put this one online to let you all see it, especially Brian. I'll post again in a little bit.

Wastin' Away In CapriSunville

Last night, Brwyan and I had some more fun times in the hall. We actually stayed up until 3:30 A.M. talking about everything. We started out talking with my roommate and Danny about girls, and then Brian and Danny went to bed. Brwyan and I were going to go to bed as well, but then we just started talking about different things, from dorm life and apartment options, to decoration plans for Christmas, and what kind of stuff we could do to try and get our hall to get involved and bond with each other. We shouldn't have stayed up that long, but sometimes it's worth it just to stay up and talk a while. We also enjoyed some Capri Sun, Wild Cherry style, as you can see in the picture. Yay for male bonding.

P.S. I promise that more funny pictures are coming

Brwyans Brwyans Everywhere

It's always fun to see what we can come up with when we're really bored :) Last night we decided to make this picture. It's cool! The next few of my blogs will probably be just some random fun we have when there's nothing else to do. But hey, aren't those the best blogs? ;) If anybody has any other fun or creative ideas, let me know. Hope everybody has a good day
