"Why Is God So Silent?"

While looking back at some of my papers I had to write in English 101, I ran across a journal entry that I had written, so I thought I'd share it with everyone.

"Why Is God So Silent?"
A few weeks ago, at my church, we had a sermon titled “Why Is God So Silent?” It was about how God doesn’t talk to us the way He did back in the time of Abraham. The way He lets things happen in today’s world that He didn’t allow back then. Listening to this sermon got me thinking. I looked down at my bulletin. I saw the title, “Why Is God So Silent?” And then I covered up the first word with my thumb. “Is God So Silent?” This question began to repeat itself in my head. I then began to think. Maybe God doesn’t talk to us like He use to talk to Adam and Eve, and Noah, but He still talks to us. If we look around at the lives around us, we can see Him in everything, nature, relationships, everywhere. Maybe God isn’t as verbal as He was back then, but I still believe God talks to us. I believe that everything happens for a reason. We might not always see that reason when it’s happening, and we may never understand some things, but I’ve noticed that everything seems to work out for the best, and I believe that even though God is silent, He’s also quite loud.

You are so right Brian, and I guess this past year has taught me this lesson. (and several others!) I think God speaks to us in a way that draws us closer to Him. The closer I get to God, the more I realize how we can NEVER understand his ways, but we can ALWAYS trust his heart. Thanks for blessing me today!

Wow, Brian! Thought-provoking and so true...God's "silence" can be very loud, indeed. :)
